Isaiah 51:7-8

“Hear me, you who know what is right,
    you people who have taken my instruction to heart:
Do not fear the reproach of mere mortals
    or be terrified by their insults.
For the moth will eat them up like a garment;
    the worm will devour them like wool.
But my righteousness will last forever,
    my salvation through all generations.”

Proverbs 12:18 (NIV)

The words of the reckless pierce like swords,
                            but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

Secure in God's Love
by Rick Warren

“I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love ….” Romans 8:38-39 (NLT)

Everyone has experienced the pain of rejection at one time or another. Maybe you were rejected by your parents. Or maybe you were rejected by a boyfriend or girlfriend. You might have been rejected by kids when you were in school. But the one person who will never reject you is Jesus.

The Bible says, “I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love. Death can’t, and life can’t. The angels can’t, and the demons can’t. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell can’t keep God’s love away. Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39 NLT).

Rejection can leave you feeling insecure. And insecurity can cause you to do foolish things. When you feel insecure and you try to appear confident, you say things you really shouldn’t say and you do things you really shouldn’t do.

But anyone who has accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior has no reason to be insecure. God will never stop loving you; he will never reject you. You may lose the things you have in this world, but you will never lose the salvation God has given to you.

Hope

"May every soul that touches mine -
Be it the slightest contact -
Get therefrom some good;
Some little grace; one kindly thought;
One aspiration yet unfelt;
One bit of courage
For the darkening sky;
One gleam of faith
To brave the thickening ills of life;
One glimpse of brighter skies
Beyond the gathering mists -
To make this life worth while..."
                         ~ George Eliot

How ironic that such a beautiful quote, which epitomizes Christlikeness, comes from an agnostic.
But God and Jesus routinely use non-believers to accomplish their purposes.
My hope is that my blog and my website inspire and uplift you, that you feel Jesus' touch, His message, His love, His hope in these words and these pages.  Peace be with you.

2 Corinthians 1:20

"For as many as are the promises of God, in Him they are yes;
therefore also through Him is our Amen to the glory of God through us."

The Bible is full of God's promises to us, to those who believe in Him and His Son, Jesus.  In Christ, all of God's promises are YES.  The answer to your question, does this apply to me, too, Lord?  is YES, yes it does.  So believe, and claim God's promises.  He's waiting for you.

Sunshine

"Keep your face to the sunshine, and you cannot see the shadow."  ~ Helen Keller

Keep your face to the Sonshine, and you cannot see the shadow.
Keep your eyes on God...  on His Son, Jesus Christ, our Messiah...   and He will guide your path with His light.  Keep Him in your heart.  He will never leave you or forsake you.  He is reliable, trustworthy, and true.  He loves you more than you can imagine.  No matter who you are, He is ready to embrace you.  Keep your face to the Sonshine.

Higher power

I have always been far-sighted and had very good vision; but in my mid-forties, I started needing a little help with close vision.  I started out with +1 reading glasses, and am now up to  +2.5 if I really want to see well up close.  I usually use +2, though, as that gives me a little more range.  Even so, for small print or fine details, I need the +2.5's - a higher power.

So it is in life - we can go along, just fine, thank you, thinking we have clear vision.  Until.  Until a crisis comes along and we pray to God and wow, we never knew things could be so clear.  While we are going along just fine, thinking about to do lists, jobs, our families, or what have you, we may not realize that there's something missing.  Not until that crisis comes along.  Then we pray and are amazed that God hears our prayers.  And at how much clearer things become.  What is really important and what is really trivial.
We shouldn't be amazed.  God loves each one of us so much.  He is always waiting for us to come to Him so He can show us how much He loves us.  He wants a relationship with us.  That is a daily, hourly, minute by minute connection.  And He wants us and He loves us immeasurably so.  Don't wait for that crisis.  Seek God as your Higher Power today.  He's waiting for you with open arms.
